As one of the world’s most vital and recognizable advertising agencies, the 50th anniversary of Chiat\Day was a moment for the entire industry to recognize. Working closely with Chiat\Day icon Lee Clow, the event celebrating the agency’s birthday quickly became not only a look back at the first 50 year of the agency, but forward to the next 50. The event featured multiple speakers, catering for breakfast and lunch and a Chiat\Day museum featuring memorabilia, a video library, and other unique elements from the first 50 years of Chiat\Day. The event was attended by all 1,000 TBWA employees in Los Angeles and took place at TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles’s office.

Later that year in November, as the agency continued to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the birthday of the late Jay Chiat became increasingly important. The birthday would soon become the largest event of the year, hosting over 2,500 guests and celebrating the work the agency had created during its lifetime. Special musical guest Big Boi from Outkast was the entertainment for the evening and all guests received multiple screen-printed shirts celebrating the anniversary.
